STALKER 2 was actually announced in 2010 for a 2012 release set before it was canceled by GSC Game. STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl had left out a good part of its content, STALKER: Clear Sky was released in a very questionable state, while STALKER: Call of Pripyat finally had an outfit worthy of the studio’s ambitions. Developing the franchise, an FPS with survival elements sprinkled with a touch of RPG, has always been complicated. Without going into the chaotic course of the saga in detail, the existence of STALKER 2: The Heart of Chernobyl is a small event in itself.
